What NOT to do when sending a Holiday e-mail
Wednesday, December 5, 2018
The Holidays are upon us! If you're planning on sending your Happy Holidays e-mail yourself, we have a couple of tips about what you shouldn't do:
- Put all your contacts in the "To" field (or alternatively, sending it to yourself and putting all your contacts in the "BCC" field). At least take the time to send them the e-mail directly;
- Attaching a PDF file (or Word file) to your e-mail which contains your Happy Holidays message (or even worst, that the file is either too heavy or of poor quality (pixelated or hard to read));
- Simply writing "See attachment" in the content of your e-mail. It only shows that sending your Happy Holidays e-mail is something you have to do but hate doing. It'll be a better idea to just not send an e-mail at all;
- Keep your standard company signature at the bottom of the e-mail. At least take the time to make it a little more festive;
- A combination of all these (yes, we've seen messages that include all these at the same time);
By following these simple tips, your clients will appreciate the fact that you really took the time to send it to them directly and that you really thought about them specifically to wish them a Happy Holidays.
